The agreement

This website is operated by Perfect Little Business LLC ("Perfect Little Business," "we," "us," or "our"). By using this site, subscribing to our newsletter, running one of our free tools, or booking a call, you agree to these Terms.

If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.

If you have signed a separate agreement with us, that agreement wins. These Terms cover use of this website and our free tools. Paid engagements are governed by the proposal, statement of work, or client agreement you signed. Where the two disagree on anything, the signed agreement controls for that engagement.

What we provide

Perfect Little Business helps established business owners rebuild their business for the AI era. Depending on what you have engaged us for, that can include consulting and strategy, building an Authority Directory, installing an AI operating layer, training a team to run it, and ongoing management.

This website also offers things that cost nothing and ask nothing: articles in the Playbook, long-form guides, diagnostic tools, a newsletter, and an option to book a call.

We may change, add, or withdraw anything on this site at any time. We're not obligated to keep a page, a tool, or a free resource available.

Free tools, scans, and AI output

Some tools on this site generate output automatically, including with AI. The AI Visibility Scan and the chat assistant are the main ones.

Treat that output as a starting point for your own thinking, never as a finding you can rely on without checking. AI systems produce confident text that is sometimes wrong. We don't review every generated result before you see it.

Specifically:

• Automated output is provided as is, for general information.
• We do not warrant that it is accurate, complete, or current.
• It is not professional advice of any kind (see below).
• Don't submit confidential information, personal data about other people, or anything you are under an obligation to protect.

Free tools may be rate limited, changed, or discontinued without notice.

Not professional advice

Everything on this site is general business information published for a general audience. It is not legal, tax, accounting, financial, investment, or other professional advice, and it does not create a professional relationship between us.

Your situation has details this site knows nothing about. Before acting on anything you read here, talk to a qualified professional who does.

No guarantee of results

We describe outcomes from our own work and from work with clients. Those are examples of what has happened, not a promise of what will happen for you.

Business results depend on your market, your offer, your existing reputation, your capacity, your team, your timing, how much of the work gets done, and a great deal that neither of us controls. We do not guarantee revenue, leads, rankings, traffic, citations by any AI system, or any other specific result.

Nothing on this site should be read as a projection of your earnings.

We should be plain about one thing in particular, because it's the outcome people most want promised: no one can guarantee that an AI system will recommend your business. Those systems are third parties. They change how they work without notice and without consulting anyone. What we can do is build the structure that makes your expertise legible to them, which is the part that is within reach.

Our intellectual property, and yours

The content of this site, including the writing, structure, design, and code, belongs to us or to our licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws.

The Authority Directory Method™, the AI Demand System, the AI Operating Layer, Digital Hygiene, Digital Assets, Digital Gravity, Digital Workforce, the Authority Flywheel, Hermes Agents, and Perfect Little Business are our marks and our methodology.

You may read, share, and quote our published content with attribution and a link. You may not republish it wholesale, sell it, pass it off as your own, or use it to train a machine learning model without our written permission.

What clients own

This is worth stating clearly, because it's unusual enough that people ask.

If we build it for you, it's yours. Your codebase, your directory, your brain files, your agents, your documentation: you own them from the start, they are exportable, and there's no gate and no hostage. If we hold a repository or a hosting account while we are managing your build, we are holding it as a convenience during delivery, never as leverage. It transfers on request, and per the terms of your agreement.

What stays ours is the methodology itself and the templates and systems we bring to every engagement. You own your instance. We own the method.

What you send us

When you submit something through this site, a form, a scan request, a partnership inquiry, a message to the chat assistant, you keep ownership of it.

You give us permission to use it for the purpose you sent it for: to run the tool, answer you, deliver what you asked for, and improve how our own services work.

You confirm that you have the right to send us what you send, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights.

If you send us feedback or a suggestion, we can use it freely and without owing you anything for it.

Acceptable use

Don't use this site to do anything illegal, and don't:

• Scrape, crawl, or harvest content at a volume that burdens the site, or in violation of our robots.txt.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site, our accounts, or our infrastructure.
• Interfere with the site's operation, or probe it for vulnerabilities without our written permission.
• Submit anything malicious, deceptive, or knowingly false.
• Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or organization.
• Use our content or marks in a way that suggests we endorse you when we do not.

We may restrict or block access to anyone who does.

Payments and refunds

Prices, payment schedules, deliverables, and refund terms for paid work live in the agreement for that engagement. We don't publish pricing on public pages.

Payments are processed by third party payment providers. We do not receive or store your full card details.

Where an engagement includes a recurring component, its billing terms, notice period, and cancellation terms are set out in that agreement.

Other people's sites and services

This site links to third party sites and uses third party services for scheduling, payments, email, hosting, and analytics.

We do not control them, we are not responsible for them, and a link is not an endorsement. When you follow a link or hand your details to one of those services, their terms and their privacy policy govern that interaction.

Disclaimer of warranties

This site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error free, that defects will be corrected, or that the site is free of harmful components.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of this may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Perfect Little Business LLC and its owners, officers, employees, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, lost goodwill, or business interruption, arising out of or connected to your use of this site, whatever the legal theory and even if we were told such damages were possible.

For any claim relating to this website or our free tools, our total liability is limited to one hundred United States dollars (US$100). Liability for paid engagements is governed by the agreement for that engagement.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud, for fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so some of them may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Perfect Little Business LLC and its owners, officers, employees, and contractors from any claim, loss, liability, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your use of this site, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or of anyone else's rights.

Suspension and termination

We can suspend or end your access to this site and its tools at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have breached these Terms or if we are discontinuing the service.

The sections that by their nature should survive do survive: intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, we change the effective date at the top of this page and post the new version here.

If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated Terms. Worth a glance now and then, particularly if you're relying on something specific in them.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaiʻi, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or this website will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Hawaiʻi, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
