What we collect on this website, why we collect it, who it goes to, and how to get it changed or deleted. Written in plain language, with the actual tools named.

Who we are and what this covers
Perfect Little Business LLC ("Perfect Little Business," "we," "us," or "our") runs this website at www.perfectlittlebusiness.com. We are the controller of the personal information described here.
This policy covers what we collect on this website, why, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do about it. It does not cover the separate systems a client works inside during a paid engagement, which are covered by that client's agreement.
We've tried to name actual tools and actual data rather than write in the usual fog. If something below is unclear, ask us and we'll tell you plainly.
Information you give us
We only collect what a form asks for. In full, that's:
Newsletter signup
Your email address and first name.
AI Visibility Scan
Your first name, last name, email address, and the website address you want scanned. The scan then reads that website, which is public information.
Partnership inquiry
Your name, email address, website, company, and what you write in the message field.
Chat assistant
Whatever you type into it. Please don't type anything confidential.
Booking a call
Our scheduling provider collects your name, email, and the details its booking form asks for, along with anything you add in the notes.
Emailing us directly
Your email address and whatever you write.
We do not ask for, and this website does not collect, payment card numbers, government identifiers, health information, or precise location.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this one records technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view, and how long you stay. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies.
Three analytics and advertising tools run on this site. Naming them, because a policy that says "we may use third party analytics" tells you nothing:
Google Analytics 4
Measures traffic and how people move through the site. Sets cookies. Google processes this data on its own terms. You can opt out across all sites with Google's browser add-on.
Meta Pixel
A Facebook and Instagram advertising tracker. It records page views and can be used to build advertising audiences. This is the one on this list that is an advertising technology rather than a measurement tool, and it's the reason the California section below is worded the way it is. You can manage this in your Meta ad preferences, and browser tracking protection or an ad blocker will stop it loading at all.
Datafast
A lightweight, privacy oriented analytics tool that gives us aggregate traffic numbers.
Our host, Netlify, also keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability.
Where AI is involved
Two features on this site send what you write to an AI provider so it can generate a response: the chat assistant, and the AI Visibility Scan report.
Those requests go to Anthropic, which processes them under its commercial terms. Anthropic's commercial products do not use customer inputs or outputs to train its models by default.
We say this because we would want to know it ourselves. Still, the sensible habit with any AI tool holds here too: don't paste in anything confidential, anything covered by a duty to a client of yours, or personal information about other people.
Why we use it
We use the information above to:
- Deliver what you asked for: send the newsletter, run the scan, answer the message, confirm the call.
- Reply to you, and follow up about an inquiry you started.
- Send marketing emails, where you have subscribed or where we have a legitimate interest and you can opt out at any time.
- Understand how the site is used, so we can improve it.
- Measure and improve advertising.
- Keep the site secure, prevent abuse, and enforce rate limits.
- Meet our legal and accounting obligations.
If you're in the UK or the European Economic Area, our legal bases are: consent for marketing emails and non-essential cookies, contract for delivering something you requested, legitimate interests for site security, analytics, and business correspondence, and legal obligation where a law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information for as long as it is doing the job it was collected for, and then for as long as we need it for legal, tax, or accounting reasons.
In practice: newsletter subscribers stay on the list until they unsubscribe, scan requests and their reports are kept as a record of work done, inquiries are kept as business correspondence, and analytics data expires on each provider's own schedule.
Ask us to delete your information and we will, except where we are required to keep it.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can email us and ask to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We will not treat you differently for asking.
If you're in the UK or the European Economic Area
You have the right to access your data, correct it, erase it, restrict or object to how we process it, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority, though we'd rather you told us first and gave us a chance to fix it.
If you're in California
You have the right to know what we collect and why, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of those rights.
On sale and sharing, we want to be accurate rather than reassuring: we do not sell personal information for money. The Meta Pixel described above may nonetheless count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. To opt out, turn on the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, use tracking protection or an ad blocker, adjust your Meta ad preferences, or email us and we will handle it.
Marketing email
Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and it works immediately. You can also just reply and ask.
To exercise any right, email hello@perfectlittlebusiness.com. We may need to verify who you are before we act, which usually means replying from the address we hold. We respond within 30 days, and sooner when we can. You can use an authorized agent.
Security
We use reputable providers, serve the entire site over HTTPS, keep credentials out of the codebase, and limit who can reach what.
No system is perfectly secure and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. If we ever have a breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
International transfers
We're based in the United States and our providers are largely based there too. If you're outside the US, using this site means your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, under laws that differ from your own.
Where required, our providers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or another approved transfer mechanism.
Children
This site is for business owners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When our tools or practices change, we update this page and change the effective date at the top. If a change materially affects your rights, we will say so more visibly than a quiet edit.
