How AI Chooses Who to Recommend
Why AI engines name some businesses and not others when a buyer asks, and what actually moves that decision.
Why isn't AI recommending my business?
Because the engines cannot verify enough about you to stake a recommendation on it. Here is what AI checks before it names a business, and how to find out where you fall short.
How does AI decide which businesses to recommend?
Through a verification pipeline: interpret the question, retrieve sources, check what holds up, and assemble an answer with reasons. Understanding each step shows you exactly where businesses get filtered out.
I asked AI for my own service and it named a competitor. What do I do?
AI didn't decide the competitor's work is better. It found evidence it could trust about them and almost nothing about you. That's fixable: the answer names your category's winners and why, so close those gaps one at a time.
How does AI even find out about my business?
AI learns about your business four ways: training data, live web search, its own crawlers reading your site, and licensed sources. There's no submission form. Whatever those routes can read is what the engines know.
Why Being Well-Known in Your Industry Isn't Enough for AI
Being well-known doesn't transfer to AI, because reputation lives where no machine can read it. AI can only read what's written down, and a visible newcomer beats an invisible veteran in the answers.
